Dock and warehouse associates are the backbone of Averitt facilities. Using digital scanners and other top-notch, modern equipment, dock and warehouse associates manage the day-to-day loading/unloading of freight throughout our system in a safe and professional atmosphere. Due to the familiarity of overall Averitt culture and processes, many dock and warehouse workers become top candidates for operational leadership positions.
**This position requires a Class A CDL**

Work Schedule:
- Home daily
- Monday - Saturday; 6 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Job Responsibilities:
- Primarily operating a forklift (90%) and acting as a fill-in driver as needed when drivers are on vacation, out sick, short runs, etc. (10%)
- Coverage area as fill-in driver: Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas and Louisiana
- Maintain & operate a heavy-duty four-wheel forklift to load, unload, and stage portable storage units
- Adhere to safety & equipment maintenance regulations
- Attention to detail to ensure trailers are loaded correctly
- Work in inclement weather (hot in summer, cold in winter)
- May be required to use computer to access customer website; to print driver paperwork (as needed basis only). Training provided!

- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years
- Must have a valid Class A CDL
- Must be at least 21 years old
- No reckless driving convictions in the last 5 years
- No DUI convictions in the last 5 years
- No suspensions or revocations for moving violations within the past 5 years
- No serious moving violations in the last 12 months (e.g., 15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, fatal accidents involving a CMV)
- No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years

Essential functions:
- Lift and move side kits -lift requirements: 46 lbs
- Secure load with chains and hardware - lift requirements: 80 lbs
- Climb onto and off of the flatbed trailer/load
- Count freight
- Complete fuel tickets
- Complete delivery receipt
- Hook/Unhook trailer - force requirement: 90 lbs
- Perform pre-trip inspections
- Drive
- Extensive travel - ability to sit upright for extended periods of time.
