- Competitive pay:
- Average $1,550 per week/$74,000 annually
- Starting pay: 62 cpm
- Average of 2,500 miles weekly
- Average 40 hours per week
- Detention, breakdown and layover pay when applicable
- Company sponsored per diem program
- Monday - Friday; home on the weekends
- All drop and hook
- Will make one run to Ontario, Canada each week
- Will also then do a run to either Michigan, Kentucky, or South Carolina each week
- Deliver through Customs port of entry in Detroit, MI and Windsor Canada
- Delivery location is three hours into Canada after border crossing
- Passport is required
- 0600 pickup from Birmingham, AL, layover in Ohio that night and cross border next morning
- Drop/hook at the supplier, when leaving you will use their fax/scan to send shipping documents to Averitt dispatcher who will work with brokers to clear you at customs
- Once clear, dispatch will send you an entry bar code you will use from your phone to cross the border
- Layover again in Michigan or Ohio
- Return next night to layover again in Birmingham for your next run

- Averitt's fleet includes local, dedicated, and regional truck driver jobs. Drivers can change their driving preferences as their careers progress, including opportunities in operations and leadership
- Must live within a 100-mile radius
- Must have 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Drivers must have Class A CDL
- Passport is required
- No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
- No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
- No suspensions or revocations within the last 5 years
- No serious violations within the previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with fatality)
- No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
- No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years
- Open/Close Trailer Doors - force requirement: 46 lbs
- Count freight
- Complete fuel tickets
- Obtain sales leads
- Hook/Unhook trailer - force requirement: 90 lbs (Class A Only)
- Perform pre-trip inspections
- Drive
- Regular predictable attendance
- Enter/Exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle
- Enter/Exit the rear of a trailer from ground level
