Dock-to-Driver Training Program: Drive Your Success

Ready to hit the road to success? Our Dock-to-Driver Training Program offers an exciting opportunity to grow your knowledge of the transportation industry while getting paid to work on the dock. With on-the-job training and top dock wages, you’ll gain the skills to earn your CDL-A and jumpstart your driving career with one of the nation's most respected transportation companies. In addition to top pay, you’ll receive top benefits and the support of an entire team, including one-on-one instruction from an Averitt driver trainer.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Join the Team: Start as a dock associate.
  2. Express Interest: Let your Service Center Director know you want to earn your CDL-A.
  3. Training: Depending on your experience, you will receive the appropriate amount of training. If you have no experience, you’ll go through four weeks (20 days) of training with a local driver trainer.
  4. Earn While You Learn: Receive top dock wages during training.
  5. Become Qualified: Upon completion of training, you'll become a CDL-A qualified dock associate, eligible for open driving positions, provided you are at least 21 years old.
  6. Increase in Pay: Your pay rate will increase to a CDL-A qualified dock rate, with the potential for further growth.
  7. Reimbursement: We reimburse fees for your CDL, hazmat, tanker, and TWIC.
