Making a Difference: Averitt's Commitment to Community

At Averitt, community is at the heart of everything we do. It's about coming together, supporting one another, and making a positive impact. At our recent events, the Scott Wolf Memorial Averitt Open, the Averitt Cares for Kids Family Softball Tournament, and the Averitt 5K and 1-Mile Walk, our sense of community shone brightly.

Scott Wolf Memorial Averitt Open

The 2023 Scott Wolf Memorial Averitt Open was nothing short of a golfing extravaganza featuring birdies, eagles, and even a hole-in-one! With 123 enthusiastic participants and the unwavering support of 13 dedicated volunteers, this year's event was an incredible success.

The tournament showcased some incredible talent, with well-deserved winners in each flight. The open also saw a historic moment with the first hole-in-one in the Scott Wolf Memorial Open's history, courtesy of Director of Dedicated Sales Jim Mitchell, who aced No. 16. Congrats Jim!

Beyond the golfing action, this event showcased our ongoing commitment to serving our communities. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the participants and associates who came together to raise over $8,500 for the Scott Wolf Memorial Scholarship through the annual putting contest. In recognition of the unwavering support from the Averitt community, the company made a matching donation, bringing the total contribution to a remarkable $25,500. This generous support translates into educational opportunities for Averitt associates and their families.

Averitt Cares for Kids Family Softball Tournament

We’re excited to share all the highlights from the 2023 Averitt Cares for Kids Family Softball Tournament! This year's tournament, held in Cookeville, Tenn., for the first time, shattered previous records with 25 teams and over 1,350 associates, family members, and friends in attendance. It was a day filled with friendly competition, home runs, and, most importantly, a commitment to a great cause.

This year marked a significant milestone as the tournament carried its new name, highlighting the partnership between Averitt Cares for Kids and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This change highlights our enduring commitment to supporting the incredible work done by St. Jude. In recognition of the record-breaking number of attendees, Averitt proudly donated $35,000 to further assist St. Jude in its mission.

We look forward to seeing what we’ll accomplish together in the future and to continue making a difference in the lives of children through our partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Averitt 5K and 1-Mile Walk

Associates and their families seized the opportunity to "Live Well" and partake in our annual Averitt 5K and 1-Mile Walk event, celebrating the importance of well-being, mentally and physically.

The 5K and 1-Mile Walk was not only an opportunity to promote health and fitness, it was also a day filled with fun and community spirit. This event was open to all, and, best of all, it was free! Participants had a chance to unleash their inner superhero with a costume theme that added a dash of excitement to the day. The event also featured prize drawings, including gift cards, fitness apparel, Averitt swag items, and more.

With both in-person and virtual events combined, we were thrilled to see close to 200 participants taking part in the festivities. It's a testament to the enthusiasm and dedication of our Averitt family, and we're proud to have such an incredible community. As we continue to prioritize well-being, we look forward to more events that inspire and empower us.
