Why do Averitt associates stay with us? So many reasons.

Posted: April 25, 2022

Averitt Express offers excellent earning power and a wide range of career opportunities across the U.S., but there’s so much more that entices people to come and stay long-term with us. Here are just a few of our highlights, along with some quotes and verified Indeed reviews from our professional associates.

REVIEW: Why stay? Great pay
Great environment overall. One of the highest paying trucking jobs in the trucking industry. Never had issues with payroll nor receiving time off. This company offers excellent benefits and decent home time.  Truck Driver - Atlanta, GA - March 5, 2022

Giving to our communities
At the heart of Averitt’s unique company culture is a dedication to giving back to our communities. Averitt Cares for Kids, a non-profit charitable giving organization funded by and on behalf of our associates, has donated almost $13 million to charities that improve and save the lives of children. Over $10 million has gone to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to help understand, treat and defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

REVIEW: Looking out for others
They do look out for their employees that care about their job and the performance they do. They help you do the best job you can do.  CDL Class A Driver (Former Employee) - Knoxville, TN - September 14, 2021

Our Over 20 Team
The Over 20 Team includes all associates who have been with Averitt for 20 years or longer and currently has over 1,403 associates, making up 16.29% of our total workforce. Members of the Over 20 Team are represented by a full wall in our corporate headquarters, displaying their names for all associates and visitors to see. The longevity of our team members shows that these individuals have found the right place to spend their careers – they've found something special at Averitt. And they’re from all walks of life and work roles, not only one area. As a matter of fact, every role at Averitt is represented in the Over 20 Team.

REVIEW: Leadership and support
Good management. Job and safety-first company. Company sets profitable goals and uses common sense to reach those goals. Good company to work for. I always was comfortable that my supervisor had my back when dealing with customers.
Truck Driver - Nashville, TN - March 21, 2022

Opportunities to grow careers / promotion from within
We’ve designed our unique Dock-to-Driver paid training program, which is for any non-driving associate in the company, specifically for those who want on-the-job training and the opportunity to grow their career. Our Dock-to-Driver program gives our associates the ability to earn an income working on the dock while learning the skills needed to attain their CDL. They’ll go through four weeks of one-on-one training with an Averitt driver trainer and receive top dock wages and great benefits at the same time.

REVIEW: Place to grow
Wonderful place to work and advance. I would recommend this place to anyone who is willing to work hard to succeed in life.  CDL Class A Driver - Asheville, NC - April 2, 2022

My favorite part was having control of my schedule, excellent equipment, zero micromanagement, lots of terminals through the southeast. OTR Truck Driver (Former Employee) - San Antonio, TX - April 3, 2022

Supporting women in trucking and military veterans
Averitt Express was named among Redefining the Road’s 2021 Top Companies for Women to Work for in Transportation. One of the key differentiators we have for women at Averitt is the security of 100 facilities throughout 21 states. That means safe parking nearly anywhere our drivers go. Plus, Averitt’s facilities have automated ID access, security cameras and guards on premises, washers and dryers, and exercise rooms.

“I like Averitt because you make it a point to hire women and veterans, just hiring good people all around,” says Valerie, one of our professional driving associates. “I just know that this is a company that I want to finish my career in. I just like the feeling I get being with Averitt.”

Averitt was recently nationally recognized as a Military Friendly Employer, Military Friendly Brand and Military Spouse Friendly Employer. We are committed to adding more veterans, so no matter which branch you served, or what your specialty might be, we have a new uniform waiting for you.

REVIEW: Highly recommended
I loved every mile I drove for this company. They are as professional as can be, very understanding of personal issues and are open for accommodations if you need them. I drove a dedicated regional account they have in the southeast which was great because I'd always be close to home. The most I'd spend out on the road was 2 days max and then be back home for 1 day. Off on Fridays and Saturdays and back driving on Sunday. Constant work and friendly people at every stop I had. Unload my trailer with an electric pallet jack which was great because it kept me moving a bit. Overall, I really recommend them. Supply Chain Driver (Former Employee) - Braselton, GA - February 14, 2022
